National Investigation Agency (NIA) has launched a series of raids across four states, namely Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and the Union Territory of Chandigarh, targeting the nexus between terrorists and gangsters. Conducting searches at 30 locations, including areas in the Moga district of Punjab, the NIA, along with the Punjab Police, is intensifying efforts to disrupt and dismantle terror and mafia networks and their support infrastructure.

On Tuesday, March 12, the NIA initiated raids in response to the ongoing investigation into the terrorist-gangster nexus case. Acting on confirmed leads, the NIA teams are conducting extensive searches to uncover evidence and gather intelligence. Sources indicate that the raids span multiple states and territories, including raids in Bilaspur village of Moga. The NIA's spokesperson highlighted the agency's commitment to employing targeted strategies aimed at disrupting terror activities and seizing assets acquired through illicit means, including funds obtained from terror operations and properties linked to criminal activities.

In a similar crackdown last year, the NIA raided 51 locations across several states, including Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh. This action was part of investigations into cases involving the nexus between terrorists, gangsters, and drug dealers. The NIA's proactive stance underscores its determination to root out threats posed by terrorist elements and criminal networks, ensuring the safety and security of the nation.
